Change of Heart On Name Change After Marrying
I just got married and have a change of heart in changing my maiden name. My marriage certificate says that I would, but I have not change any legal records. I talk to the court house to ammend this, but they say that I will have to go to court to legally change my name back? I am confuse so do I change all my legal records to my husband's name and then go back to court to it back to my maiden name? Please help!!

I take it that you're already married?

You don't identify your state, so this is a generic reply. Generally speaking, you wouldn't have to change any of your ID. You would simply petition the court for an adult name change under the laws of your state.

In order to request my name I need to have the old name which would be my husband's last name and the requested name. I been married for about a month now. I was married in St Paul, Minnesota. I heard that I didn't have to change my name even if I requested it on the marriage certificate as long as I do not change my social securtiy card, driver's license, etc and just go by my old name. Is there a time limit that I have to legally change all of my documents? I don't want to break any laws.
