Residential Burglary
Me and a friend were arrested for residential burglary of $20,000 (which most was recovered).
Most of the items were recovered from my house.
I am located in Illinois (lake county), which makes residential burglary a class 1 felony. I have a lawyer.
The cops came to my house with a warrant to search at about 4am on a day last week.
I know pleading guilty is my only option because the items were found in my house, however - would this be probationable? In Illinois class 1 felonies are not probationable, but my lawyer said he could try to get probation. Is there any leniency for first timers/being 17 and in school/non violent crimes?
I am 17, in school - have had no prior arrests, and I work.
Right now I am on a 24 hour curfew until my first court date.
Any advice or information that anyone could offer would be highly appreciated. My friend talked me into doing this, and I should not have, but now that I am being charged with it - I just hope that this is at least probationable so I can continue work and school. I dont want to go to prison for 4 years :(
Thanks in advance.

Your lawyer is in the best position to know, on the basis of the charge and any potential plea bargain, whether you would be eligible for probation.
