:wallbang: Hi,
Since i am working on L2, can my employer file GC process for me.
If so can i change staus from L2 to H1 but with same company without affecting the immgrant visa process?
Thanks,
Laxmi

If you had work authorization, your employer is qualified to employ H1 workers, and you would qualify for one of those positions, I don't see why your employer can't sponsor you for H1. An H1B is a "dual intent" visa, so you can hold one while seeking to immigrate. In the alternative, I don't know of any reason why you can't continue your L2 status while your employer petitions for your Green Card, but you would have to qualify for employment-based immigration. As your L2 status is presumably derivative of your spouse's L1 visa, your spouse may also be able to seek an employment-based Green Card.
