Help Being Emancipated

i am 16 turning 17 in just a few weeks. i have been looking at emancipation for a few months now. i am looking for a job but havent found one yet. i know i have to have one inorder to be emancipated. and i have seen i have to be able to support myself. i have a family that has said i can move in with them and i have accepted but i just have to know if that will help with my "supporting myself" problem. i mean even if im not making a whole lot at first i will still have a place to live. it is in austin and i live in georgetown so even if i had a job right now i would have to get a new one. i have a car and i am going to stay in school. i want to be successful. i plan on going to college and am 100% sure i can pay for it when the time comes. i am going to be a senior this year and will save the money i dont spend on gas going to work and school for college. i was just wondering what all i have to do. i am sooo miserable at home. my mom has a new boyfriend who we moved in with and he is changing EVERYTHING. i am put down everyday and it makes me feel like they dont want me around. i told my mom a few weeks ago i am moving out when i turn 17 and she just cried and asked me not to run away from her. im not technically running way and i will come to see her i just cant stand to live here anymore. im not happy at all. WHAT DO I DO???

If you are living with someone else, then they are in part supporting you. That's not self-support.

Do you have any idea how much it costs to live on your own?

If you have a stable source of income which would be sufficient for self-support, I doubt that a court would deny emancipation merely because you chose a less expensive lifestyle than you could afford (such as by living with a friend), but if you do not have the means for self-support the plain language of the statute suggests that emancipation will not be granted. (The minor seeking emancipation must be "self-supporting and managing the minor's own financial affairs".)
