Re: Advice For Shoplifting Charges in California

YOU SHOPLIFTED! In the eyes of the law (even if it happened to really be a accident) you by LAW shoplifted. Get a lawyer and good luck
Re: Advice For Shoplifting Charges in California
LOL ooook. I am assuming you are one of those people who NEVER has made a mistake in life and received the benefit of the doubt. Obviously you don't know me and your opinion is just that. I am looking for legal advice regarding this situation. I was not caught stealing. I was stopped for having unpaid items and brought back into the store. Then placed under arrest for "petty theft" of $5.81. Upon initially being confronted I immediately apologized and tried to pay for the items, but for whatever reason the LP staff found it necessary to treat it as a serious offense. Yes theft is a serious criminal offense, especially when it is the person's malicious intention of taking something OF VALUE that does not belong to them. At this point in my life I have absolutely NO reason to be accused of thievery. I just find this whole situation to be ridiculous. If the court wants to waste taxpayer's money over $6That's fine ! But I will not go down without a fight. I know what I did, I know my intentions. Being handcuffed, having my picture taken and being forbidden to come back to the store is not a punishment? Lol, maybe my hands should be severed at the wrist? I am not expecting to be able to go out and commit crimes then not be punished, I am asking that EVERTHING be taken into consideration to understand the FACTS. I am not a thief/shoplifter. I have no reason to do such a thing. It was mistake, a stupid mistake, but nothing more. Let the person who has never made a stupid mistake cast the first stone. I am here asking for legal ADVISE not your judgement. Please do not contact me unless you have legal advise that may actually benefit my situation.:)
Re: Advice For Shoplifting Charges in California
Everything the LP did was legal. For every $6.00 item you take the store must sell several more to make up the loss of the one! where should cut off mark be $6.00 or $600.00 its store policy the LP has nothing to do with it. Fighting the charge could cost you mor ein Attorney's fees than fines noit to mentuion if you fight charge any plea deal goes out the window and you could get max sentence! Nothing in your post suggests any wrongdoing by LP or that there wasnt cause to stop you.
Re: Advice For Shoplifting Charges in California
LOL ok i guess you do not understand so we can try this one more time.. you had unpaid for merchandise in a bag that you placed there.. then you past all points of sale and left the store without paying for them... guess what, that is... SHOPLIFTING. I will give you the benefit of the doubt here... maybe it really was a mistake and you forgot.. but the LAW does not care... under the LAWS of that state you SHOPLIFTED. So now do you understand? No matter what story or how hard you fight it.. you are going to be charged with shoplifting. so hire a lawyer and do what is in you best intrest. and this has nothing to do with what I have done or the judge or anyone.. It is something that you did and have to step up and pay for the mistakes you made. We all have had to pay for mistakes we have made in life. That is why we call them mistakes.
