    Possession of Narcotics in Michigan
    Wayne County, Mi.

Upon a knock at me and my boyfriends door, police entered our home and ordered us to get on the ground. Our home had been raided! Our 5 year old son was traumatized as our home was completely torn apart! Apparrentely the police had information that drugs had been sold out of our home- NOT! All that was found under the search was less than 1/2 gram of cocaine and some weed seeds. We were taken into custody, our son released to my sister, and our cars seized. I was questioned and released less than 4 hours later, with no charges. Then, 2 1/2 months later, the charges were brought against me. I am a full time student(3.95 gpa) receiving federal financial aid, and any kind of drug charge will most definately harm that! I can't afford an attorney, but I know that I can't afford not to have one either. Any advice would be helpful and appreciated! (We paid $1500 to have our cars released.) I have insurance that would cover outpatient treatment, and even though I am not in need of this, I have been told it may help. HELP?!

What exactly are you charged with? If you have no prior drug convictions you may be "7411"-eligible. (Lawyers say "Seventy-Four - Eleven".) That's a special provision which allows for certain drug offenders to get a delayed sentence such that they aren't convicted if they successfully complete probation.
