Payment Agreement by 3 on Time Payments
My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Virginia

I learned in a class regarding medical collections, that in the state of Virginia, if a patient makes 3 on time payments, of the same amount, they are therefor, by default, entered into a financial agreement with the facility. I need some clarification on this, as I am having trouble finding that in writing.

I'd ask the teacher that taught you that.

    Those who can, do.
    Those who can't, teach.

Ask your teacher to cite a statute or case decision that supports his/her assertion.

And those that can't teach are coaches and administration.

Well...it would seem to me that the most logical thing for you to have done would be to speak with your teacher who told you this. I doubt very much there is any law that supports this.

I have heard of some states having that kind of law written into their code that covers debt and collections.

There are lots of laws about debt and collections. I doubt any of them create a contract when neither party is trying to create a contract.

You wouldn't define a debtor making regular payments as someone who is attempting to create a contract?

    Attempting isn't necessarily succeeding.

I'm wondering if the OP may be referring to a statute of limitations. In some states making a payment (or payments) restarts the SOL. In others it takes a written agreement by the debtor.
