    Foriegn Ownership of Interstate 10
The departments of transportation are planing to replace a portion of Interstate 10 where is crosses the Mobile Bay in Alabama. However a group that calls itself the Alabama Toll Road Tunnel and Bridge Authority led by Governor Ivey plans to turn over the construction and ownership of this road to a foreign government. Highways are defined as public land. It is illegal in the United States for public land to be under the control of a foreign government or a private corporation.

Welcome to Alabama. THey've already sold off the schools the same way.

    Did you have a question?

What does this have to do with civil rights?

People in this country have fought and died for the right to make highways public land. That is they can be used by any one and there are no exceptions. If you allow a foreign government to control a road you may find your self on a no drive list. Be sure there will license plate readers on this highway and armed police with the authority to chase you down.

There are already plenty of "license plate readers on this highway and armed police with the authority to chase you down" all over America's highways and byways - most (and possibly all) of which are on public highways.

And re: "People in this country have fought and died for the right to make highways public land" - man that's one war the ol' history books seem to have missed completely!

Really? Who did we fight? Other than the British, Germany, Japan, Italy, North Korea, North Vietnam, Mexico, Spain, American Indians, various countries in the Middle East, and each other (American Civil War)? Have I missed anybody? I don't think any of that had to do with making our highways public land.

There already are. Were you born last night? Living under a rock? Just fell off the turnip truck? Or just a troll trying to start an argument that will last for weeks?

There are already plenty of privately owned toll roads in the US. If you don't want to drive on one, then find an alternate route.

Where did you see the information that the portion of I-10 over the bay (the proposed toll bridge) will be owned by a foreign government? I can find nothing credible that supports that claim. Certainly the the plan that the state announced would have a private company build and operate the toll road, collect the fees, etc., for decades to come. That's because the the private company will front the construction costs and recoup its investment from collection of the tolls. That's why the plan is attractive to ALDOT and the governor. Taxes would not have to be raised to pay for it. But bridges don't come free, so if it doesn't get paid out tax revenue they need to have a toll so that users of the bridge end up paying for it.

Here are the companies bidding of the project. Notice it does not say all of these are foreign owned. Some one else did the research on this. The information came from reddit Mobile Alabama. https://www.fox10tv.com/news/mobile_...2a0eeea7d.html

You didn't ask a question, so I'm unsure what the purpose of your post is.

    Departments? Plural?

Please cite the source of this information. The notion that a state agency could "turn over . . . ownership of" an interstate highway to a foreign government is awfully difficult to believe.

Really? Which people? And whom did they fight?

I can't say I recall ever learning about some "great public highway war."

P.S. This is the second ridiculous thread you have started in which you didn't ask a question. The last one was in August of 2018. Can we expect you to emerge in August of every year to entertain us with your silliness?
