Going to Court
Hi-
I was wondering - I was caught shoplifting this past Saturday and told by the plainclothese officer in the store that I would be receiving a summons in the mail for a court date. Is there a possibility that I can call for an update to see if any charges have been pressed or to see if a summons will be sent to me, or do I have to just wait the estimated 30 days and check my mailbox? I'm asking because it is my first offense and a low amt.

Re: Going to Court
Maybe I should talk to a lawyer first before calling the clerk's office? I'm imagining a pile of papers and I'm in there somewhere but it's minor and because I call I put up a red flag so to speak for them to take a second look at it? Am I wrong?
