    Negotiating With The Store Manager
    Hello members!

So there is a comon trouble, shoplift in the store for < $300.
That's a long procedure and there is already a good criminal lawyer who promises to take care of it for ~2k.
It's a lot of trouble and is expensive...

What if I go to that store manager and offer him to withdraw his charges for a reasonable pay?
If he goes with the charges he gets nothing, all money go to the legal fees and penalties and it doesn't really do any good for anybody except the lawyer.
If he agrees then he gets something or store gets something and I spend less money.

Is this legal or would he call the cops on me for this?
Has anybody tried something like that?

    Thanks!

I would run that idea past your Attorney first and have him/her help you with wording.

where the cops already called on your case? I am guessing yes because you have talked to a lawyer... so the store CAN NOT drop the charges once the police have takin action. Plus i doubt the store cares if you spend less or more.. they just want you to get the max punishment for what you have done to them.
