I turn 16 November 29, and ive been thinking about emancipation. Me and my mom argue on a day to day basis, and i cant stand even the thought of her. a little over five months ago, i met this boy, and we started going out. I snuck him into my house, and mom tried to have him arrested when she found out. the most he could get was a misdimener, so she decided not to. from then on, she wouldn't let me see him outside of school, call him, or even talk on the internet with him! AND she wouldnt let me go outside or see any of my friends. i have beem phisically stuck inside of this house for five months straight. at the beginning of the new school year, she is putting me into a new school so i cant see any of my friends. When i realized last thursday, that i only had about 10 more school days to be with my friends, i began to cry. i cried for about 3 whole hours without stopping. i eventually went up to her and asked if i could go for a ten minute walk to calm my thoughts, and she said yes.
I went outside and ran and ran. i ran to the entrance of my apartement complex and stopped to walk back and fourth along the side of the lake. a woman stopped me and asked whats wrong, i told her EVERYTHING and she gave me advice and told me that everything was going to be ok.
I thought to myself later that night, that i couldnt go to my mom for help, and a STRANGER cared more about me than MY MOM.
My mom hits me sometimes. she once threatened to lock me in the bathroom and i tild her that i would have her arrested if she did. she held me down by my hair onto the table and started punching me in the side of the ear as hard as she could for about 3 minutes. she ripped two of my gages out and i didnt stop bleeding untill the next morning.
I want to move in with my boyfriend. but if not, i can move in with my best friend suzanna. ive known her since i moved to bradenton...

Florida emancipation statutes require the parents or legal guardians to file the petition. -
