    Child Support: $30,000 Owed
    Hello,
My ex-partner has never payed child support! He now owes more than 30,000 dollars. He has never had a job and he may be working onder the table. It has been more than 5 years that he hasn't payed. His license has been suspended, but thats it! I live in Calif. and he lives in Texas. Is there anything that I can do. File some papers or something!!!
    I really need help!!!

Ps- he has never visited my child and we have always lived in the same house since I got preg.! He know my address and everything, so the contact to his child has never been taken away!

What state is the support order in and is it being enforced on your own or by Child Support Services?

The order is in California. And I do have a case with the child support agency, I already called them to see what I could do but they said they really can't help me. I would have to get a lawyer! I don't have money for that, :(

Have they explained why they can't help you? Have you asked them to try to initiate interstate enforcement (a UIFSA action) through the Texas legal system?

Yeah, the fact that they said that they can't help you is a little odd. In my case, they went and charged my ex recently with 270pc (failure to provide for a child) and hauled his behind into court. Call them and ask them if this is a possibility in your case.

Go to thier office and demand that they take enforcement action. It irritates the heck out of me when a CP is told by a CSE agency that they "can't" do anything. It is pure laziness on the worker's part- it is thier job to enforce CS orders- specifically so that CP's do not have to hire an attorney.

I know that the Texas Child Support Agency knows about my case...I taked to the father today and he said they keep sending him letters, but the guy won't pay! He wants to arrange out of court payments, of course I won't go for that, im not that stupid! But, I know for sure that Texas knows about my case, Yet I want something done, Im tired of sitting on my butt and do something about it. I would like RESULTS!!!

I'm going to have to go through a private agency like Supportkids.com. It sounds like the best bet, What should I do????

You should stay away from support kids. They are nothing but a glorified collection agency.

In addition to being a glorified collection agency, they will also keep a large percentage of any monies recovered. Also, once a CS debt has been turned over to a collection agency, the debt is then eligible for discharge in bankruptcy.

Even if it takes a while, do not go to any of the CS collection agencys for help.

 :( HUH! Then what type of papers should I fill out? What is the name of the paper work to be filled in the Child Support agency? Or should I go to civil court and fill some papers there?
