Does My 14-Year-Old Girlfriend Qualify To Get Emancipated
Ok, I have a 14 year old girlfriend and her parents did not know we were having a relationship.(We are currently in a lesbian relationship). Her mother started getting suspicious about us and found out we were in fact dating. She refuses to allow me to see her or speak to her in any way at all. Her mother also takes medication for depression and her father drinks and is abusive. She is terrified of her parents. Her mother will NOT let her be happy. She is living in a VERY unhealthy envirorment. They are emotionally, mentally, and physically hurting their child. Her father hit her in the back of the head and left huge bruises on her thighs because she was caught walking home with me. She is devastated and needs to get out of her home. Her parents will not let her do ANYTHING because they are so terrified of her being around me. Does she qualify to get emancipated or a change of guardian? Or be able to have my mother as her guardian? PLEASE RESPOND ASAP.
Thank You.

This is not an emancipation situation.
Someone needs to report the abuse to CPS.

Will CPS take her to another family member?

I'm 14 also and we live in California.

They would need to investigate and if they believe she should be placed in a safe place they may place her in foster care or possibly with another relative.

As HT said, this is a matter for CPS.

Is there any possible way my mother could be her legal guardian. Court being an option, or is it out of the question?

A judge isn't going to allow her to live in your home once the "relationship" is told to him/her.
