Help With Emancipation in North Carolina

No, I am in Nc... I was with my mom for ahile but she told me to go to nc and get emancipated because she doesn't want to be responsible.

The state you reside in is state to petition for emancipation if your legal residence is in NC then thats where you must file papers

yes, I have been living in nc for 10 months with my dad..but he went to jail last month. I went to alaska for a week to see my mom and she said just to go back then and get emancipated as soon as possible.

Where is your "legal" residence? If your Father is in jail with whom are you living and does this person have legal authority over you?

My legal residence is in nc. I haven't moved out of nc...I'm still here. I'm living with my aunt and uncle, But no, no kind of legal papers say that I can be with them...It was all verbal through my parents and uncle.

Then we are right back to the first few posts in this thread! Reread what you have been told!

yes, I know... I think I'm going to see if I can be in the guardianship of my aunt til I graduate or til I can prove that I can be on my own and am sure of it myself. Thank you all!

Either way, you still don't meet the requirements for emancipation. Sorry.

My mom changed her mind and told me to go...deep down I'm sure she didn't really want me to and yes, she does want me to be with one parent or the other. But she said she wouldn't try to stop me, so I was free to come back home.

No matter what you say or how you word it bottom line is you do not meet the requirements for emancipation
