Speeding Ticket With a Mandatory Court Appearance
My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: MO. I was stopped by a state trooper in MO for excessive speeding. I was clocked at 84mph in a 55. Since this falls into the bracket of 26mph+ I am required to appear in court. I am 18 years old and also have a CDL drivers permit.
My question is would it be better to pay the fines or to contest the ticket? There’s not much evidence to argue the ticket. I am just interested in keeping points off my license to avoid having my CDL permit revoked.
Re: Speeding Ticket With a Mandatory Court Appearance
If you want to keep the points off of your record, obviously you will want to contest the ticket. If you hold and want to protect a CDL license, you should consult a lawyer about possible defenses -- you have shared nothing here that suggests a defense.

I was clocked by a radar gun on an incline. However there were no other cars around that would have thrown off the radar’s accuracy. I couldn’t think of any real defenses against it. If I were to contest, how likely would it be to succeed with such little defense?

If you can afford it now, contact an attorney. Otherwise, I unfortunately predict you'll pay for this later.
