Can You be Prosecuted for Using Somebody Else's Employee Discount
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Vermont
Can you be prosecuted or sued for using somebodies employment information over the phone for purchasing at staff discount and then reselling at profit.
Talking tens of thousands of dollars. Less than 100,000$ though.
Secondly if you have authorization from this person to call on their behalf are you still liable?
Thanks

Yes, if you are lying to the business claiming to be the employee in order to get the discount that is fraud, for which you could both be prosecuted and sued.

If the employee whose identity you are using is in on it and the employer does not allow the employee to share the discount with others then both of you are potentially subject to criminal prosecution and being sued. And, of course, the employee will almost certainly be fired when the employer finds out.
