Polly, emancipation is not going to happen. Your state simply does not provide that option. And even if it did, you would have to show that you are financially able to support yourself. That's a lot more expensive than most kids your age realize, because even if you're buying your own clothes, school equipment and "luxury items" and paying your own cell phone bill, things like rent, electric bill, gas bill, land line bill, etc. are being paid for you and they add up fast.

But there are other options. Foster care, group homes, even being placed with another relative.

But it isn't going to happen until you take steps to make it happen. You need to report this. If one school counselor says, wait it out, talk to another. Talk to a teacher. A pastor. A doctor. Even the lawyer you said you were going to call. But forget about emancipation. That's a non-starter.
