My Lawer Is Not Defending Me
I live in Iowa.Is my lawyers job to defend me?even if they think I'm guilty? My lawyer kept telling me to plead guilty of a posseion charge after I told her no several times, the prosecuting attorney along with my lawyer told me if I didn't plead guilty to the charge, they would charge me with other offenses, and if I did they would run my sentence concurrent with a case that has not set a court date yet.so I agreed ,because I felt pressured by my court appointed lawyer even though i'm innocent.when i pled guilty the judge sentenced me he did not run it concurrent, when i asked him he told me he couldn't because i haven't been to court yet on it so why can my lawyer and prosecuter lie to me to pressure me into doing what i didn't want to do? also i felt like they were black-mailing me by threating to give me more charges if i didn't plead guilty.I don't know what additiinal charges would have been since there was no evidence against me. the cops stopped my car and searched it found some acid i had gotten to pour down my clogged drains and to save my self a 30 min. drive again i had stopped and bought a small box of pheusedeffedrine, for my allergies.thats all that was found. the male officers had me sit on the ground by a tree to wait for a female officer to search me, when she finally got there she had me step off the curb onto the side of my car,she searched me good having me take my shoes and socks both off,i didn't have a bra on but she checked anyway, she didn't find anything on me but after she was done she seen a small bottle of meth on the ground beside us she asked me if that was mine i told her no she searched me good and didn't find nothingbut i still got charged with possion even though it wasn't mine she would have seen me drop it or at least heard it hit the cement i think it was hers.could you please give me some advice?i have children at home and i don't want to leave them.PLEASE HELP!!!
Re: My Lawer Is Not Defending Me
So you were charged with possession of meth, and chose to plead guilty to avoid additional charges of possession of the precursors to meth manufacture, or operating a meth lab?
