Emancipation by Notary vs Court
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Louisiana
Quote Quoting Louisiana Civil Code, Art. 368. Limited emancipation by authentic act.
An authentic act of limited emancipation confers upon a minor age sixteen or older the capacity to make the kinds of juridical acts specified therein, unless otherwise provided by law. The act shall be executed by the minor, and by the parents of the minor, if parental authority exists, or by the tutor of the minor, if parental authority does not exist. All other effects of minority shall continue.
As a parent of a 17 year old daughter, will Article 368 cover her in a relationship with an adult? I have been reading and comparing Art 368 and Art 366. I am trying to give emancipation by notary (fastest and Cheapest) vs the court due to age now and 4 months until she is 18.
Both parents and 2 witnesses and notary signatures available.

What do you mean "cover her?"
Re: Emancipation by Notary vs Court
How old is the adult? If we are talking two teenagers here I think that what you want to do is possibly serious overkill.

My guess is that Article 368 is designed to allow a minor to engage in, and be responsible for, contracts. Like working, school, leases, car purchase. That kind of thing.
If you are referring to having sex with her boyfriend, it's not necessary because the age of consent is 17.
Buy her some condoms and teach her how to use them so you don't end up with a pregnant daughter and disappearing boyfriend.

I was told in Louisiana age of consent is 18.
Re: Emancipation by Notary vs Court
In Louisiana, age of consent laws are more complicated than those of most other states.
There is no definite age of when a minor may consent to sex in Louisiana. Instead, it varies depending on a few factors, such as the age of both parties, and the age difference, if any, between them.
In regards to the age difference, Louisiana is unique because it allows a larger age gap between younger minors than older minors. A person between the ages of 13 and 15 can consent to have sex with someone who is up to 3 years older than them, but a person between the ages of 15 and 17 may consent to sex only if the other person is 2 years older or less. For example, in terms of a 3 years age difference, a 13 year old can consent to sex with a person who is 16 years old, but a 15 year old may not consent to sex with a 18 year old.
However, a person 17 or older can consent to have sex with a person of any age.

And just to be clear, there is nothing in the laws dealing with age of consent that makes any special provision for minors that have been emancipated in anyway other than in the case of marriage.
