Re: Disclosure on Application: time limit?
if you do something stupid like lie on a job application how long does the company have to terminate the applicant? The company says that it will do background checks prior to employment but if they do not can they still terminate at a later time?

Yes, they can. There is no legal limit to when they can take action - it could be ten years down the road if they want to.

I do NOT recommend lying on your application EVER for exactly this reason. They can terminate your employment for lying on your app no matter how long ago it was.

You have more of a chance of getting & keeping a job if you tell the truth on your job application. If you lie & they find out, they are much more likely to not hire you or terminate you.
