Speeding ticket for 80 in 65 - Redwood City ,CA
Hi,
Few weeks back , while i was riding on my Motor Bike on 101 - S on my way back to Mountain view ,I was pulled over for doing 80mph on 65mph freeway in Redwood City area.
I recently got my Notice of Bail from SanmateoCourt and since this is my second ticket in shorter than 18months window, the fine seems to be ridiculously high, close to $940,not to mention how this will screw up my insurance.
I was looking at my ticket, the Radar box on ticket say "No" . I was wondering if the officer just guessed it ?? Also , i have heard its difficult to clock someone who is riding bike ,is that why office couldnt clock me on radar and as result mentioned "No" in that box.
Do i have good case ?? What are my choices ??
I am student and cant afford such big fine and subsequent increase in Insurance.
Please advice
Thanks
PS : If i remember correctly ,officer came over and told me that i was prolly doing 85 for a bit and reduced and so on . I told officer that i was in rush to take nature call and hence was looking for specific exit and as a result might have exceeded the speed limit .

Q: I was looking at my ticket, the Radar box on ticket say "No" . I was wondering if the officer just guessed it ??
A: Ask him when you get to court; but my guess is no, he did not just guess.
Q: Also , i have heard its difficult to clock someone who is riding bike ,is that why office couldnt clock me on radar and as result mentioned "No" in that box.
A: You heard wrong.
Q: Do i have good case ?? What are my choices ??
A: You could ask the clerk when you go to court who you talk to about a plea bargain.

That's a classic excuse! It has to be at least a hundred years old!!
