What does this mean?
Ugh, like most I made a huge mistake here. I'm 24, and I shoplifted something at a small local grocery store. I don't know what I was thinking, I suppose nothing. Anyway, I place a few items totalling about $13 in a bag and walked out the store. As I started my car, I noticed the clerks looking at me, and the manager walked out the store towards me. I started driving away and he stared at my license plate and walked back inside. At that point, I turned the car around, parked, and walked back inside. He just watched me walk in and walk to a checkout counter. He said, "Are you going to pay for that?" I said, "Yes, I'm so sorry, I panicked..." He said, "It's OK, its OK.." He was holding a phone book (for obvious reasons I think), but then he just walked away and I paid and left. He didn't ask me any questions, or even my name. But he did take down my license plate when I first started to drive away...
So any suggestions, or has anyone experienced anything like this before?

Re: What does this mean?
Also, would it help to go back to the store and ask the manager or someone else if any steps were taken? I was in such a daze that I just walked out after paying...So I'm wondering if I should go back or call.

Re: What does this mean?
No DA is going to take this case you went back into store and paid for items and store allowed it.

I think if they were going to get the police involved, you'd know it by now. You should probably shop else where from now on.
