Started a New Job, Then told I might not have it
I received a call from a "Staffing Agency" said they needed a front office person. The i'll say manager of the office was having surgery the next day. So I didn't get to interview with her. But did with the two account managers the day the manager was having surgery.
They liked me, and my resume. They told me I was hired. It was to last for 3 months than when the "manager" came back if she like me and the work that it would be perment. I than filed out all paper work, tax forms and was told to start the next day.

I show up at 8am Friday morning. All set for work. I am than told that since the "manager" didn't interview me(the old front office person was fired on Wed.) they as in Corporte had someone they wanted used. And they were going to work Monday April 23rd, than decide which of us is better.
The two account managers are the one's that hire temp empolyees anyway they said, and told me they didn't know why this was any different.

Is there anything at all I can do???
I worked my tail off even thou I knew I might not be keeping the job. They told me when I left I did a great job. Had harldy any questions. And nothing went wrong but them telling me the job might not be mine.
Please hlep, I really liked this place.

state Va. per a previous thread.
No, sorry, there isn't anything you can do if they decide to hire someone else. There would be nothing illegal about them changing their mind about who they want to hire full time if they believe the other person is better qualified. Actually, Va. is an at-will employment state & they can terminate an employee at any time (or not a hire a person) for any reason that is not prohibited by law (ie - age, religion, sex, etc.) Good luck to you Monday.
