In US for 40 Years and Never Updated Green Card
OK, call me an idiot. I was admitted into the US legally when I was about 3 years old back in 1965. Since then I was arrested once for domestic battery and charges were dropped. I also found out today that I should have been filing change of address forms all along. I think I stopped back in the mid 1980's when I was told I didn't need to fill out the annual form any longer. I'm wondering if I need an immigration attorney to get things in order or if this is something I can handle on my own without any problems coming up.

If you believe that action was taken against you by the USCIS during that period, and you did not get notice due to your not having a proper address on file, then it makes sense to get help from a lawyer. Otherwise, update your address.
