Will Paying The File Result In Dismissal Of Probation Violation
My fiance was arrested May 11, 2007 for violating probation back in 2002 that he thought he was clear of. Initially probation was given to him for forgery with intent to pass. He is currently in Bee County Jail awaiting court; there was no bail set. His probation officer however contacted him and told him if he were to pay $3200 that he owed, he would drop charges. If he didn't pay before court, the probation officer was going to push for 2 years in state prison. If I find the money to pay the probation officer, what are the chances of him holdng true to what he said and dropping the charges?

Q: If I find the money to pay the probation officer, what are the chances of him holdng true to what he said and dropping the charges?
A: Of course no one on this earth knows the answer to the question. So what you do is before you give the officer the dough, ask for a written statement showing exactly, clearly, and plainly what is going to happen to the bad guy.

I forgot to mention this happened in Texas.
