    Emancipation from Drug-Addicted Parent
I am 15 and i live with my mother she has be using drugs for about 3 years she has been to rehab and jail but i know that even though she is out of rehab she is still doing the same thing. She has told me many times to leave and to get emancipated i just dont know what to do. Living with her i pay most of the rent theres never food and the house is full of people and is always a disaster i even sleep on the floor. She kicks me out when she feels like and then after she thinks about it she comes and says sorry to me but i know that really she does that because of the money that i get because of my fathers death. I have lived by myself while she was in rehab so its nothing knew to me. Please help me thank you

You don't have the option of emancipation under Florida law until you are 16, and that would be on the petition of your parent or guardian.

You may wish to try to arrange to live with an adult relative, and encourage the relative to seek a guardianship over you.

In the alternative, you could try to get help through your guidance counselor at school, or through the Florida Department of Children and Families at 1-800-96ABUSE.
