Probation Violations And Jail
My husband was served divorce papers and when he was served he was arrested for a bad check in Muscogee County, Ga. He was going to be released on bond until the dispatcher called his friend that bailed him out and said that he couldn't be released for an outstanding bench warrant in Henry County, Ga for Violation of Probation. He got that probation from a DUI. He is waiting for Muscogee to transfer him to Henry. But my question is What will his sentence be when he goes to court or jail in Henry County, GA? Is there a chance of jailtime or just probation? Please help!
Re: NEED ANSWERS AND QUICK! Probation Violation
When you commit a criminal act that carries a potential jail sentence, it is quite possible to be sentenced to jail. Whether or not that will happen depends in no small part upon your criminal history.
It sounds like your husband has been collecting misdemeanor offenses, and has done himself no favors by failing to appear in court as ordered. He would be wise to hire a criminal defense lawyer.
Re: NEED ANSWERS AND QUICK! Probation Violation
I agree.
Sounds like jail time to me.
