Can a Landlord Evict for Nonpayment if They Receive a Check Before They File the Case
My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Washington
I received a 3 day pay or vacate notice on Friday. I talked to the landlord and she said to pay by Monday or she was moving forward. I busted my ass to get the $ but couldn’t in it’s enti until Tuesday. I sent her a picture of the money order and it was in her P.O. box by tues. she filed and I was served with papers on Wednesday. My question is; if I paid before she filed, can she still move forward even though she has the money as she’s filing?

She can move forward with the case but your payment is a defense against eviction if she keeps it.
She can refuse it and send it back to you. Then you are out.
Follow the instructions on the papers. If the papers say be in court on a certain date and time, you be there with your evidence of payment.
