Introduction of Contraband Charges
If your spouse is incarcerated and you give him an item that he's not allowed to possess, even though it's a perfectly legal item in the outside world, can you be charged with introduction of contraband under Florida law? The prison claims that the prisoner and his spouse traded watches during visitation.
Re: Introduction of Contraband Charges
If you give a contraband item to an inmate during a visit, then you can be charged with introduction of contraband. The legality of the item outside of the prison is irrelevant. See Florida Statutes, Sec. 944.47.
