Second Degree Threat to Do Bodily Harm
After an argument between a teenager and her father, in New York, she threw an object at her father. She has been charged with threat to do bodily harm, second degree. What is the penalty for that offense, PL 240.26?

That statute is for harassment in the second degree, a violation. The maximum penalty for a violation is a fine and up to fifteen days in jail.

The defendant should consult a lawyer as, depending on the full facts, it may be possible to get a non-criminal disposition.
