Re: Do I Have To Say I Was Terminated On A Background Check
I have called former employers before hiring you would be suprised what they are willing to say. Here is a brief list of things I have been told by former employers
.Given option to resign or be fired
.Cant show up to work very often
.Too many personal problems interfer in work
.Too many personal phone calls
.Frequently absent
.too much time trying to impress opposite sex
so yes an employer can say much more than dates of employment
Re: Do I Have To Say I Was Terminated On A Background Check
I didnt purposely perform poorly to get fired. But instead of saying to myself, "im unhappy here, its time to move on, and my work is obviously subpar,,,,, Ill stick it out and see how long it will last." I think that somehow I convinced myself that I "puposely" got fired so I wouldn't have to admit I just was a poor worker. IM not going to lie, the unemployment was very nice to have, but I shouldnt have said in my initial post that I purposely was fired.

Re: Do I Have To Say I Was Terminated On A Background Check
Being that it was over 3 years ago, I allowed myself to evolve the story to a more fitting one to minimize myself from having to admit my failure to friends/family. I guess I really had to think about it since its been so long. ANyways, not that I owe anyone an explanation but myself. Haven't any of you ever exagerated or altered part of a story and told it that way so many times you nearly forgot the thruth. Their was no fraud on my part except beleiving I purposely was crappy at my job to get fired. I got fired because I was irresponsible and had other "issues"

You've told several versions of your story just in this thread.
Which one are we to believe?
Re: Do I Have To Say I Was Terminated On A Background Check
You have proved to us all your dishonest (liar) we can't help you if we can't trust you!
Re: Do I Have To Say I Was Terminated On A Background Check
Look, we know that what you are looking for us to tell you is that if you leave this job off your application there is no way a future employer will ever find out about it. We understand that this is your goal.
However, there is no way we can truthfully tell you this. The fact remains, however much you want it to be true that a future employer will never find out, they can. We'd be lying if we told you what you want to hear.
A future employer CAN find out if you leave this job off. Asking the question multiple times is not going to change that.

And, you can't even keep your story straight when it is in writing right before you on the computer!!!
