Re: Child Support in Indiana
What does the child support order say? Indiana courts, as a general rule, can continue child support through the age of 21.
Re: Child Support in Indiana
The child support order states that we must pay $25.00 per week. It gave no definitive time as AFDC claimed that their goal is to reunite the child with the family even though it would not be in the best interest of the siblings. The child was removed from our home at age 14 and we have been treated as if we were the criminals. When I asked ADFC about the child support when they called and informed me of the extra year the child would be spending in foster care, they said we would have to take the child back into our home to make it stop if not, they will contact us and tell us when it will stop. I can't seem to get anything but the preverbial run-a-round. They really made it feel like we were being threatened. As I said before we all fear for our lives around this child and coming home is NOT an option. We've not been informed of any of the court preceedings untill after the fact when it is to late to give our imput. The paperwork just states we were a no show.(we receive the court papers at least 2 times a year) Are they allowed to do this? I thought they at least would be required to notify us of the next court date even if it was a year in advance. I feel like I'm banging my head against a wall. Is there any hope at all? Can anyone help to guide me?
