How Do I Ask For A Reduced Charge On A Ticket
I'm a 22-year old in Virginia who just got a first speeding ticket. I'm guilty of speeding, I'm not trying to argue that. I've looked through this site and seen quite a bit of advice urging a first offender to try and get a plea offer. So how do I do that?

Basically, I don't mind paying the fine, going to driving school, doing community service, whatever, I'd just like my insurance not to dramatically spike. How do I ask to say, reduce the charge or the points given by going to driving school?

    Thanks for any help.

By all means, use your skills to check out your court's website. Most of them are pretty comprehensive and you'll quickly figure out the best way to proceed. You don't need advice from us, as of yet....just check it out; if you have issues after that, give us a message.;)

Do you mean the state's site or the County Court? I've checked out the site of the General District Court on the site, and it's very little help.

Some court websites are great; unfortunately some are lousy. (You probably can't even find out if the court you have to go to will have an available phone booth....) Perhaps one of our ticket gurus will share some pointers.
