    Citizenship and Separation
    I am eligible to apply for citizenship. I am separated from my wife in US but our Divorce is not yet final in India. Should I go ahead apply for citizenship or wait till this dragging divorce is over?

    If I apply, What should I choose in -
    Question#G: What is your current marital status?

    Possible choices:
    Single, Never Married
    Married
    Divorced
    Widowed
    Marriage Annulled or Other (Explain)

    The first part is up to you.

    As for the second, from what you say you are currently married. Once your divorce is final you will be divorced.

    I have on more:

    Is International divorce valid in US when both parties are in US as Permanent Residents at the time of divorce?

    The U.S. will ordinarily recognize the validity of a foreign divorce judgment, where essential elements of due process are observed. If you secretly filed for divorce in India and obtained a judgment without your wife's knowledge, she would likely be able to successfully object to the enforcement of the judgment in the U.S.
