    Emancipation Law for Ohio and Legal Age Laws
    I am a 17 year old female dating a 25 year old male i was wondering if there were any legal laws against that.... also i am currently homeless.. kinda i have been staying with friends i was staying with my aunt for a month but she didn't have enough room and i had to leave now i am staying with friends my mom lives in washington state and has legal custody of me i was recently living here in ohio with my dad but i left his house becuase of his wife and step daughter... my mom has agreed to give me up and sign me from custody to be on my own how do we go about that? She wants me emancipated.... due to me living on my own since i was about 14 already:confused:

    It is not illegal for an adult to date a minor.

    Ohio does not have any statutes that govern emancipation.

    Ohio does recognize a minor as being emancipated if they join the armed services or he/she gets married. However, if either of the two mentioned - end before the minor becomes 18, then they are no longer considered emancipated.
