21 year old and 16 year old in Texas

Ok yesterday, me and my 16 year old girlfriend, who will be 17 next month, went to planned parenthood. They called the police because she told them i was 21. We went in for an STD check and tested positive for hbv. The cop with held me till her father came to get her. He told me that i was being abtained for haveing sex with a minor and that i gave her an STD. I didn't know what to say. So i figured the best thing (which wasn't) is to tell the whole truth. so i told him weve been together for 8 months and been having sex for 8 months, that she visits me at my apartment, has clothes there, and that her mom and sister know how old i am but dad thinks im 18. She lives with her dad only.

When her dad arrived he told her to get in the car and was talking with the officer. Her dad was not informed about the STD. The officer let me go and said the father did not press charges. But the officer took down alot of my information including address, name, license no., phone, height, and writing hand. But he never gave me any papers or made me sign anything. The officer told me that her dad said that im not allowed to see her, talk to her, or have any contact with her. The officer said that the father can press charges when ever he wants. I asked the officer if i would be able to see her when she is 17 or 18. He said that if her dad felt that from 5 years from now if he decided that i messed her life up enough he can still do it. And told me my best bet is to forget about her completlly. Today when i called the San Antonio police department they said that there was a pending report. Which was just waiting to be looked at or for paper work.

SO... my question is...

What is that report going to do to me?

Will they arrest me once the report is finished?

Can her dad still press charges after she turns 17 or 18?

Can her dad press charges even like after she is 18 and we are married or if were not even together or anytime in the future?

Does it make a difference if she is pregnant today?

What can i do, is making her dad like me my best bet right now?

And can we maybe go for common law marriage for her staying at my place and sometimes even taking care of my daughter?

I think it does make a difference if she's pregnant today. You can consider those charges pressed if she is.

What's wrong with girls your age? And congrats on giving her the STD, it's illegal, but they should have told her father. She is obviously horribly irresponsible.

I know this sounds like a horrible story and all but there is so much more to it and i just need help. I mean like before me my gf was already headed down the wrong path with her friends. Im not saying i gave her the right path but it might of been better than where she was going. And she helped me as well. I know how horrible the STD thing is I got it from my slutty ex-girl friend and we just found out :( ...

And like the whole pregnancy thing i wasn't sure about, she is on birth control right now and we do want to wait for the right time, and we both want to go to school. But between going to jail and ruining our lives this might be the only option but i doubt we would go this way.

Right now it is what it is. I plan to stay with her not only cause we both have this thing, but cause we are in love. It doesn't matter what age it is people who are 40 years old will fall in love and out of love just as a 18 year old would. But yea all i want is answers....

Are you under treatment, yourself, for Hepatitis B? With treatment the recovery time is probably about six months. Without treatment you could be looking at liver damage.

And my daughter already began to get to know her and we just started getting our lives back together after I left her mom and I just got custody of her but it will all change if this thing goes wrong but i just can't leave her and forget about it like the cop told me to.

We both want to purse careers and our degrees in college. Me an engineer in the Air force and her a pediatric nurse. And i just graduated from aircraft mechanic's school. But she can't stand up to her dad to tell him.

You don't get it....They WILL press charges! Even if she isn't pregnant! It is illegal to have sex with LEGAL children. By the laws in your state, she CAN NOT LEGALLY give consent! That is why it is called Statutory RAPE!

No, hbv is Hepatitis B. The Human Papillomavirus, genital warts, is HPV. It's also a gift that lasts a lifetime. You can take the cop's advice and forget her, but she will always have something by which to remember you.

You had sex with a girl way under the age of consent, gave her a STD and this was reported to the authorities by a mandated reporter. When the DA sees the report it is very likely they will press charges!

If a warrant is issued for your arrest, they can still get you in Canada...And there is no Statute of Limitations on a warrent...

I know what you have posted...If you feel that I am not understanding the situation, than perhaps you should post all RELEVANT facts.

But I doubt you could say anything that would justify the rape of a 16 year old girl and infecting her with Genital Warts! :(

The sad part of all this is, you could have just been a friend helping her get her life together, and kept sex out of it. You can not use her lifes traumas, to excuse breaking the law. If there were illegal activities going on between the father, and her, your chances of being heard, to make someone take action against him, will no longer be an option, now it will be considered a revenge tactic, sorry.
