Emancipation of a Minor in Virginia
I am 14 I live in Va and I want to get emancipated but I know you have to be 16.. I hate it at my house, I have a stepdad who lies on me and gets me in troble and sometimes beats me my mom gets drunk and does drugs she always tells people Im a bad kid and im not .. I have a little half sister who I have to take care alot... Im getting a job now plus I work at this lady's house I c;ean and get about $50 about every 2 weeks to every month. I just cant take it at my house my mom is an unfit mother and she can barely afford food for us I have to buy my own food I think I am a very responsible person I will be in
9th grade and I havent failed once. I whould keep going to school and hold a job i know someone who whould let me live there but if not Someone will make sure i stay on my feet and if not they will help me out.. I know you have to be 16 but i cant take it anymore... I cant go live with my aunt or grandma because they share a house that has to many people in it and My dad is always in and out of my life and he is not that well fit eaither.. I have a counsler kind of like Child protective services but I dont want to be in a foster home and I dont really know alot of my family.. So what should I do??

There is no state outside of CA that will allow minor so young to emancipate! You state you realize you must be at least 16 it may be older than that but I have not looked up statute. You know youmust wait two years minimum why even bring this up as stated talk to your school counselor about options because emancipation is not one of them
