Can Mall Security Message You Personally Via Social Media
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Nevada
Me and my friend where in Kohl’s on Thursday just lookin around . The shop was kinda empty , anyways she took an item worth 30 dollars , she didn’t conceal it or anything it was in her hand and we literally walked out , she didn’t pay for it . On Saturday night 2am I got a message of this guy , I recognize his face but didn’t know his name and he basically said “ when are you gonna pay for the items you stole from Kohl’s “ and then another one “ it’s ok I’ll report you to my workplace “ . ( I have my job listed it’s not Kohl’s ) . I went on his profile and apperantly he was drinking so was drunk when he send me that message . He deffo wasn’t in the shop that time as a customer so he must he lp . He probably messaged me because he knew my name or something . But is it legal to do that , and he didn’t anything about police just my workplace . Can I get in trouble for being acomplise ? Or what if he tries to black mail me? I literally replied “sorry?” And he never messaged me back . Will I get in trouble in work ? And was he in his rights to message me on social media like that ?

What law do you believe exists that would prohibit him from contacting you?
Re: Can Mall Security Message You Pesonally Via Social Media
Companies policy ? I wasn’t in the shop when he send me that message I have left the premises , also he wrote to me accusing me of taking it but it wasn’t me .
Re: Can Mall Security Message You Pesonally Via Social Media
Company policy is not law. He may or may not have violated company policy but that does not make it illegal.
Block the number, stay out of Kohls for a brief while and don't worry about it until or unless something other than an odd text happens.

How is he going to know who your employer is?

Yes, you can get in trouble with your employer.
But that's up to your employer.
Understand that you can be fired for any reason or no reason. You can be disciplined and put on probation. It is perfectly legal for your employer to take any number of steps to your detriment if he finds out about your participation in your friend's dishonesty.
And, yes, you are an accomplice to the theft.

It’s listed on my Facebook and that’s where he contacted me on
Re: Can Mall Security Message You Pesonally Via Social Media
Okay, either he's going to contact your employer or he's not.
If he doesn't, no problem. If he does, either your employer is going to care about it or they're not.
If he doesn't, no problem. If he does, either he's going to fire you for it or he's not.
If he doesn't, no problem. If he does, sorry but that's legal and you apply for unemployment.
But you're a long, long way from that yet.
