    Except, as you were told when you originally posted your thread, laws are different in every jurisdiction.

    Canada's criminal code is predicated on common law to a much greater extent than the U.S., which relies very heavily on statute.

    The FACT is that the US laws are meaningless in Canada.

    Look as if even the discount itself is taxed as income in Canada.
