Do You Have to Pay Child Support for a Child You Have Never Seen
My question involves a child custody case from the State of:
I have never seen my child; do I still have to pay child support?
Re: Have Never Seen My Child; Do I Still Have to Pay
Short question then short answer...yes.

More information, including your state, might help focus any replies.
In general, you have to pay whatever the court says you have to pay - even if you have not seen your child. If visitation is being withheld, you can go back to court and ask for it to be enforced.
However, more details and info would be appreciated so that the volunteers here can tailor any response to your unique situation.

Short answer is yes, you pay child support even if you don't see your kid(s). Are there more details to this? Have you tried to have visitation and you were refused? Did you not know the kid existed and just found out? Does the child live thousands of miles away and you just can't make the trip?
