What Happens After You Respond to a Petition to Modify Child Support
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: California

My daughter's mother filed for a modification of support, this is the first time we have done this Today was the deadline for paperwork to be submitted. I was wondering what the next step is in the process and approximately, based on your own experience, how long till I hear something back. And has anyone heard of support being raised 20% or $50 which ever is more? Thank you!

Is this an action through the Department of Child Support Services?

Is that what your ex- is requesting?

I read that it is a standard they use when calculating just wondering if this sounded familiar.

It is, I submitted my response to her request.

They apply the state child support guidelines.

Child support isn't raised by any arbitrary number someone chooses. There is a specific formula that is used to determine what amount is appropriate.
