I didnt want to pay she is already married and stepdmom can pay. She is married with a woman.
A friend of mine told me that the judge may find "wilfull" that I didnt pay as I paid a day before court.
But what should matter is that I paid right?
What do you mean "the stepmom can pay?" You have a child with your ex right? That's your responsibility not the stepparent. Unless the stepparent adopts a child, they aren't legally responsible for paying child support for a child not theirs and they have no order to pay.
If you don't want to be responsible for your kid and the stepmom is a better parent, why not let her adopt?
You waited until a day before court to pay on your arrears? Smh. Yes you could still go to jail even though you paid half the balance. It's up to the judge.
It doesn't matter that you paid. The only reason you paid is you had to go to court about it and you want to avoid jail - not to take care of your kid.

I paid because Im traveling abroad tomorrow and I needed the balance below $2,500.00 in order to have my passport without being revoked
The court was today and I called explaining that Im on vacation. Nothing wrong was said to me but the date adjourned.
