Can a Custody Court Require a Parent to Pay for Private School
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: California.

Can the court compel me to pay half of the cost of Catholic private school? My daughter has never attended before this current school year, she has no special educational needs and the public High School nearest to her has equal test scores and ratings to the private HS. I told her mother that at $14,000 a year I would not be able to afford it, she makes less than I do yet somehow signed her up.

What does your court order say about paying for private school? Or any schooling, for that matter.

The court certainly can order you to pay half the cost. Whether it will enter such an order depends on all the evidence submitted by both sides. Unless the mother can demonstrate a need for the private school that cannot be met at the public school your daughter would otherwise attend the court is not going to order you to pay for it.

There are no orders for private school, only for extracurricular activities which states whom ever signs up has to pay 100%

There is really little chance that you are going to be ordered to share in private school tuition in an instance like this one.
