What to Expect from a Minor in Consumption Ticket at Age 18
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Tennessee
I received a minor in consumption citation, I am a 18 year old with a clean record. What should I expect to happen?
Also the officer never asked me to sign the citation and there are errors on the court date. The month is written where the day of the week is supposed to be.
Would this have any effect?
Thanks.
Re: I Received a Minor in Consumption Citation
Nothing on the citation is going to get you out of the charge. You should contact the court to verify the actual court date if it is unclear to you.
The charge is a misdemeanor and you will likely see a fine and technically could see jail time. The good news is that it is expungable after six months. Still, you're well advised to have an attorney.
