But who actually thinks of doing that? .

well I can tell you it’s not typically people that know what they have in their pocket.

But who actually thinks of doing that? Only someone who expects trouble. There are a lot of naïve people out there.

If you're taking random pills from people you aren't absolutely certain are giving you the correct pill at the correct dosage, naive would be the nice word for it.

If we weren't talking about a highly abused drug (a CNS stimulant with amphetamine-like qualities) then naïve might be an applicable word. Perhaps I'm jaded, but the notion that one person would give away such a drug unknowingly and that another accepts it, also unknowingly, stretches my boundary of reasonableness.

It would normally stretch mine as well, however in this instance, because both substances are made into little round blue pills, I am willing to give the OP the benefit of the doubt. I also do think that we tend to get jaded on these forums.

Agreed. And I think many have forgotten what it was like to be young and have terrible judgement.

Exactly. And generic forms of naproxen sodium also come in little blue pills that look pretty much exactly like Aleve except they don't have Aleve stamped on it. So I can see where there might be an argument for mistake. It's possible that the friend meant to give them the aleve but gave them the adderall instead. Why they didn't keep them more carefully separated may add to the doubt of some.

And yet someone gave up their highly sought after and highly abused Aderrall... why? And possession of a controlled substance without a prescription is pretty much a strict liability crime, which means you don't have to know what you had. Imagine a criminal justice system in which you had to prove the person knew for certain that what they possessed was cocaine. There is a lesson in here somewhere....

I check the imprint every time I get a prescription and I do not recognize the imprint. I learned first hand in the 70's that pharmacists make mistakes. Back then there were no generics. I knew the medication was the wrong milligram because I read the prescription before I got it filled.I got the same prescription every month And the imprint was different than it had been in the past. I do not know when or why. But I have checked the imprints on medications as far back as I can remember

I also check the imprints on OTC medications. If it is a manufacturer I have not used before for that medication.

I have had a headache at work and was offered Tylenol or Advil before. I took the two pills without checking any sites to confirm that the pills I received were in fact what they were supposed to be. However, I took the pills with a glass of water as soon as I received the medication, I didn't place them in my pocket for a police officer to discover they were a controlled substance a few hours later.

Sorry OP, but I'm not buying it.
