Does Your Parent Have Authority Over You if You're Placed With a Legal Guardian
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: California
Alright a little background here, When i was about 10 years old my father lost his guardianship of me and my two siblings, we then went to live with his mother and have lived there for about 4 years. After many broken promises my father who i have a very strong dislike of due to his prescription pill abuse and other drug use as well as his alcoholism. now recently by making a bunch of lies up and using a family member with a grudge against my grandmother to lie for him, he has managed to get visitation every weekend as well as christmas. Anyway he has a very short temper sometimes and due to my bitterness towards him, it is possible we may get into an argument. does he have the ability to use his being my father in any way to exert power over me?
sidenote: what if we got into a physical altercation, his body is weak and frail from drug use but he is still decently strong.
Re: Does Your Father Have Any Legal Power Over You if He is Not Your Legal Guardian
Has a court stripped him of his parental rights? Please note that this is NOT the same thing as granting custody to your mother or grandmother.

Yes i just checked with my grandmother she has full custody and guardianship over me and my siblings. The judge has said that the final say is my grandmothers so even if my dad is capable of supporting me, its up to my grandma.

Unless a court has said that he has NO authority over you, he does. Even if your grandmother has the final say.

Full custody and guardianship means grandma has the SAME rights as dad to act like a parent. But unless his parental rights were terminated, he will have right to parent when you are with him. So yes, unless there is a court order stating he isn't a parent any more, he has the right to treat you like his child.
