Child Support Going to the Wrong Case
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Florida
I recently dropped off the increase in my child support order to the job where their father works. For the last two months I haven't received my support and it does come out of the fathers checks. I finally went to the office two weeks ago and was informed that my support payments were being paid to the other child support case he had open. They also confirmed that they were deposited meaning they were cashed. I don't know if that's fraud or if anything can be done.

The child support enforcement agency should be able to show that the other case is overpaid and therefore they should be able redirect what would normally go to that case to you until that overpayment is dealt with. However if the other case has arrears they may not be able to do that.

I am guessing that its his employers fault rather than the child support agency. Most likely the employer is only sending in one check with one case number on it, instead of two check or one check reflecting both case numbers and the amount for both case numbers.
