Will You Be Prosecuted for Stealing Alcohol if Not Detained
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan

So earlier today I decided to steal some alcohol from a gas station. I took it and thought I was fine, until I was confronted in my car by a clerk. She asked if I had stolen any alcohol, I told her no, but she kept asking and I said I was sure. She didn't ask for my name or anything, but will anything happen? I was on a security camera. I doubt anything will, just looking to see what everyone else thinks. Thank you.

Will you? Can't say for certain. It's a definite possibility as they have you on camera and I'm sure the clerk got your plate.

The clerk did not get my plate, I know that for a fact. I'm not sure if the cameras could get it though.

Ummm, how could you possibly know whether or not the clerk got your plate?

Because she walked from the front of the store and I don't have a front plate. She didnt walk behind my car.

    Stay away from that store.
    Stop stealing.
If contacted by the police/prosecutor, decline to speak to them without a lawyer.
    Have a lawyer handy.
