What Does it Mean if Your Jail Time is Suspended
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Texas
Can anyone tell me what this means
1. DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED BAC >=0.15
CSCD 20 Months with Community Service of 80 Hours
Confinement to Commence 10/10/2017
300 Days , County Jail, Denton County Jail
Suspended 300 Days
DIC-17:
DWI Required 10/10/2017
Re: I Don't Understand My Sentencing
A suspended sentence means that you are excused from serving that time in jail, but the right to "unsuspend" that sentence and send you to jail is reserved in case you don't behave yourself.
As RK comments, it looks like ALL the jail time was so suspended.
Re: I Don't Understand My Sentencing
If you violate the terms of your probation in any way, you can expect to do 300 days in jail (minus any "gain" time depending on how it works in your jurisdiction). I'd check with my PO very often to make sure I was doing everything exactly right if I was you. If random urine testing was imposed that's what trips a lot of people up. A hit off a joint isn't worth going to jail for 10 months...
