Hello my name is Emily and I will be needing some of your adivce guys please . My boyfriend was caught shoplifting at kohls like about 2 weeks ago and I was also blame for it and token to the back for questioning and they are making me pay a fine and I’m scared that it will go on my record . To began with I myself did not steal or take anything but , they are making me responsible as well just because I walked into the store with him on the other hand , I wasn’t with him at the moment he told til a bit later .

We walked out the store and that’s when they stopped us and took us in we didn’t get asserted yes there was a police and security guards. We didn’t get arrested but I’m 18 and his 17 and I’m scared it will effect me for the fact that he made the mistake I’m a bright girl and I have a whole life ahead of me and just because someone did this I don’t want it to affect me and get on my record and send me to court . Can I get adivce please the fine hasn’t came in the mail and I’m worried. Thank you the the help

If there was no arrest, then there will be no criminal record. Just pay the civil demand when it comes and that should be the end of it. Consider finding a new boyfriend if the present one is a thief. You are guilty by association. This time you got lucky.
